An alternative high school setting is offered at Orangewood High School.
The Redlands Independent Study (RISE) Program and the Home Education Learning Program (HELP) are also on the Orangewood campus.
Plans are underway for a much-needed third comprehensive high school, Citrus Valley High School, on the northwest corner of Texas and Pioneer in Redlands. Registration - Students who arrive during the school year are registered immediately at school. New enrollees must present proof of residence and health records. New and transferring students should contact the new school for registration and scheduling information and other requirements. At some elementary schools, in cases where a grade level is full, a new student may need to be transferred to another campus until the following school year or until space becomes available at the child's home school. Transportation is provided for this type of transfer.
School Boundaries - Attendance area maps are available on the RUSD web site at www.redlands.k12.ca.us (under School Information:School Boundaries) or through the Facility and Community Services Office at 748-6730. Please call to check on a specific address or to verify a school assignment. Boundaries are subject to change from year to year as enrollment growth occurs.
Transfers - Parents may apply for intra-district transfers for students to attend any school within the district. The district open enrollment period is January 15 to February 15 of each year, during which time parents may apply for a transfer. Transfers are granted based on the availability of space at the school requested. If more requests are received for a school than space available, transfers shall be determined by lottery. If granted, the school requested becomes the new home school. Parents are responsible for providing transportation, and the students must maintain good attendance, grades and school conduct.
