Ms. Sally Tapert
Welcome to First grade! I am happy and excited to get to know you and your student. I have been involved in teaching in some way or another since I was a young woman. Teaching for me is a part of who I am, not a job. I love to see the lights go on inside the heads of those I am teaching. It is important to me to provide a great learning enivorment for all students. I am always trying to increase my skills in order to support the learners in my classroom.
A little about me, I was born and raised in Southern California, I have two adult kids, Emily and Bryan. Emily is married, she and her husband live in Uath, Bryan lives in Yucaipa so I see him regularly. I have a large family, four siblings, three still live fairly close to our family home in West Covina, and the other lives in northern Idaho. I also have 6 nieces and nephews, and 11 grand nieces and nephews. Family is very important to me and try to be apart of their lives as much as possible. Also, I love everything Disney, the first movie I remember seeing as a child was Mary Poppins. I go to Disneyland often since one my brothers works there and each time is like the first to me. Another thing I enjoy doing is traveling and going on new adventures. I have traveled all over the U.S. as well as many countries in Europe and South America.
As I stated earlier I have been teaching in some form or another for many years, I have taught in my church throughout my life, in jobs while I worked in the fitness field, and pre-schools. For the Last 22 years I have taught in Redlands Unified, 21 of those here at Bryn Mawr. I love teaching and apperciate the growth I experience with each new group of students that call me "teacher." Additionally, I have done home/hospital teaching for the district and found great joy beginning in that one on one situation. Working with students that are not able to attend a regular classroom for various reasons was rewarding for me. I believe all student derserve a teacher that wants them to succeed and to help them gain the most out of their lives.
Thanks for stopping by to learn a bit about me, I hope to meet you soon in the classroom :-)
