School Motto: "Proud To Be Part of The Pride"
Lugonia Elementary School, founded in 1877, is one of the oldest established school names in California. The root name "Lugo" is the family name of a prominent rancher who farmed "Lugonia," a large parcel north of Redlands. The current school location, built in 1956, is the 3rd such school building to bear the Lugonia name. The current site's longevity has allowed up to 4 generations of students bearing the same family name to receive their elementary education from Lugonia Elementary School. Students continue to enjoy much success, having their educational beginnings at a school rich in history and tradition.
Lugonia Elementary school prides itself in building capacity and providing all of our students with a rich, rigorous academic program steeped in the tenets of the 21st-century skills of collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity. We offer a TK-5th grade program implementing the Common Core State Standards through our district adopted curriculum. All students have access to technology in the classroom on a daily basis and teachers are committed to embracing the latest technology in order to ensure our students are College and Career ready.
Awards and Distinctions
Greetings and welcome to Lion Country! I’m honored to be given the opportunity to work alongside an outstanding group of dedicated, talented and compassionate educators. I joined The Pride in August of 2017 after teaching in the classroom Kindergarten – 8th grade for 18 years and serving as the Assistant Principal at Victoria Elementary for three years. I’m passionate about education and ensuring the success of each and every student. I’m a teacher at heart and believe that it’s our responsibility to awaken the learning spirit that is inside each of our students and to encourage the pursuit of college and career readiness.
I believe in an open door policy and look forward to meeting each and every one of the families that I serve through Coffee with the Principal, School Site Council, ELAC, Math and Reading Family nights, or just out on the playground.
“Proud to Be Part of the Pride”
Yours in Education,
