I graduated from the University of Redlands with a degree in Mathematics. I would like students to understand that learning mathematics is like learning a second or a third language. This means that all students, regardless of their first language, ethnicity, and gender, can learn and enjoy mathematics. In addition, I would like students to appreciate and enjoy the subject because mathematics involves more than just substituting variables, calculating numbers, and finding x, y, and z’s. Ultimately, I hope to inspire and encourage all students, especially girls, to excel in mathematics.
