INTRADISTRICT OPEN APPLICATION PERIOD:
JANUARY 15, 2019 TO FEBRUARY 15, 2019
Intradistrict Transfer Requests Received January 15 – February 15:
Intradistrict transfer requests are granted on a space-available basis. All students MUST be pre-enrolled to their home school site before an Intradistrict transfer request can be completed. In the event requests exceed capacity at the school or a specific grade level within the school, approvals will be determined by a lottery per student, not by family, from the eligible applicant pool. A waiting list shall then be established to indicate the order in which students may be accepted. Students whose names are on the waiting list may not be notified of availability until after the start of school.
Intradistrict Transfer Requests Received between February 16 - April 15:
Intradistrict transfer requests are granted on a space-available basis. In the event requests exceed capacity at the school or a specific grade level within the school, approvals will be determined by a lottery noted above. Therefore, applications received between February 16 and April 15 are added to the waiting list in the order in which they are received in the event requests exceed capacity. Students whose names are on the waiting list may not be notified of availability until after the start of school.
Intradistrict Transfer Requests Received After April 15:
Applications received after April 15 are added to a waiting list in the order in which they are received in the event requests exceed capacity. However, the District may also enroll students from the Interdistrict List to balance educational programs and enrollment numbers. Students whose names are on the waiting list may not be notified of availability until after the start of school.
Conditions for Approval:
- Parent/guardian assumes responsibility for providing transportation.
- Student must make satisfactory academic progress. Satisfactory progress is defined as a minimum grade point average of 2.0 and credits equivalent to grade level being requested. In addition, students entering their senior year must be on-track for graduation.
- Student must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Student must maintain proper conduct at school and at school-related functions and activities.
Transfers may be revoked at any time if any of the above conditions are not met, if unexpected growth occurs at the school, or if any of the information in the transfer request application has been falsified.
Intradistrict Transfer Request Forms:
The Intradistrict Transfer Request Form is available by clicking here or may be picked up at the Enrollment Center located at 7 West Delaware Avenue, Redlands CA 92374 anytime from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Note: When a student is granted an intradistrict transfer for the school requested, they will attend that school until they complete the highest grade level at that school as long as the conditions of approval listed above are met. (i.e., highest grade level at elementary is fifth (5th) grade and highest grade level at middle school is eighth (8th) grade.) Upon completion of the highest grade level at your assigned school, you are automatically enrolled in a middle school or high school, whichever is the case, based on your address of residence, not based on the elementary school or middle school your student is currently attending.
NOTICE: Trying out for a team/squad prior to your transfer being approved or denied:
If a student has applied for a transfer and tries out for a team or program at the new school, it may be prior to their transfer being approved or denied to that new school.
If your student makes the team or program at the new school, it will have no bearing on acceptance of the student transfer. Transfers are based solely on space availability, student attendance, behavior, and grades.
Also, it is recommended that students NOT purchase uniform/equipment or materials related to the new school’s team or program prior to being notified that their transfer has been approved. Making this purchase is at your own risk, as neither the school nor the team nor program will be responsible for reimbursement if your student’s transfer is denied.
