This is a college preparatory course designed to prepare students for the first quarter or semester of introductory college chemistry.  The course begins with the basic concepts of atomic structure and periodic properties.  Next, we will study mass and mole relationships, molecular structure and properties, and the behavior of the different phases of matter.  The year ends with the study of various types of reactions, including acid-base and oxidation reduction reactions.  This is a laboratory class and students will learn basic laboratory skills throughout the year by participating in lab activities.
