This is an introductory course designed to support students as they enter high school. The material selected is set forth by the Scope and Sequence from RUSD. Students will read both fiction and non-fiction pieces and be expected to think critically, to evaluate arguments, and to write a variety of essays. Students are expected to come ready to participate in classroom discussion and bring fresh ideas to the classroom. My goal is to always make the class challenging yet accessible to all students while creating a safe and fun environment.
