Private and Out of State Colleges
An increasing number of private and out of state colleges are utilizing the Common App for the application process. This allows students apply to multiple schools with one application. Some institutions may have additional suplimental essays required.
The Common App requires teacher and a counselor recommendation. Make sure to "invite" these people to recommend you in the recommender section. Also, check with these indivituals to make sure they received your invitation and are willing to provide this service. Counselors request that you schedule an appointment to review your resume or bragsheet with them prior to writing a letter. Remember your teachers and counselor need time to write you a strong and throughful letter of recommendation. The last day for requesting a letter of recommendation is November 28.
