Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Andrea Jessup

Hello and welcome to 2nd grade! I'm Mrs. Jessup and I LOVE teaching 2nd grade! I hope you're ready to have a ton of fun this year, I know I am!  I've been an Arroyo Verde Elementary Teacher since 2016, but I'm also an alumni of Arroyo Verde, being a student of the first graduating 6th-grade class! Go Aztecs! I have been a member of the East Highland/Redlands community for the majority of my life. I graduated with my BA in Creative Writing: Non-Fiction from the University of Redlands, and earned my Teaching Credential and a Masters in Learning and Teaching from the University of Redlands.  Growing up, I remember enjoying school and loving my teachers, but I honestly remember the teachers that made me LOVE to learn with fun and creative activities as well as by building a strong, loving and safe environment, it is my goal to do the same for my students so they'll develop a love of school and learning. I love Harry Potter, Disneyland and everything to do with my sweet, wonderful family!

Arroyo Verde has some exciting, community building changes heading our way this year with our school wide House System! Students will be "sorted" into houses some time after Labor Day. More info will go home. And while we are still completely committed to getting our students ready for their future, we're doing it using the AVID program.  With the AVID program, our classroom won't have a specific college that we reference as much as a general, college focus.  Our school spirit days are every Monday, students are encouraged to wear Arroyo Verde attire or colors (teal and black).

I highly encourage you to join our classroom Remind page. You can download the free app to your smartphone or join online. You can also call me before or after school. Feel free to email me at Our weekly classroom newsletter will come from the email.

I'm excited to welcome my students on the first day of school, Wednesday, August 7th @ 8:00 am in Rm. 11! I look forward to meeting parents on our Back To School Night, Wednesday, August 7th. Back to School Night begins in the MPR @ 5:30, followed by classroom sessions at 6:00 and 6:30. I hope you're all enjoying your last few weeks of summer!!!
