Anatomy and Physiology
This two-semester course is an introductory study of life processes and organisms. The course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation with which they may proceed to take a more advanced level of science. The goal of this course is to provide students with the required principles, concepts, and methodologies required to understand the structures and functions of modern anatomy and physiology. Laboratory activities allow students to study the human body and practice the process of observation, classification, and appropriate lab technique. Specific topics will include chemistry, cells and tissues, skin and body membranes, blood, senses, metabolism and skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive and urinary systems.
