Mr. Benjamin Dix
The picture you see is of me and my wife, Michelle, the love of my life, about 10 years ago. I look the same only I now have a huge beard. My name is Benjamin William Dix. I am third generation American on both sides of my family. My father's side was Eureopean Jewish and my Mother's side was Irish Catholic and Presbyterian Norwegian. From a very early age in life, I wanted to be a professional baseball player. That was something that defined me, was alive inside me, and I was very passionate about. I can look back in my life to everything I have ever done and know that I gave it 110%. Even now, through all my trials and tribulations I know that there is just about nothing that can stop me from doing something that I want to accomplish. Unfortunately, my life would also start at a very early age to become like a boxing match. I’ve had more knockdowns than your average Joe but I pride myself on the fact that I get right back up every time. Every time I thought I knew what I wanted to do with my life, God had “other plans.” My life has been filled with learning experiences not too many people get the opportunity to experience; I think it's pretty safe to assume that they wouldn’t want some of my trials because they are experiences that can strip a person bare of their happiness and purpose in life. However, all my experiences in life, the good, the bad, and the ugly have led me to the road I am on now. I am so thankful to God that I am alive today to be part of something way bigger than myself, educating the future of society. My life has been a roller coaster ride, but I am finally starting to see the end of the tracks and, a beginning to a new and more exciting ride. The passion inside me as a child to become a baseball player has transformed into my longing to become a “hall of fame” teacher. I love my job here at REV more than any job I have ever had and would like nothing better than to stay here for the rest of my career.
