This is an accelerated course designed for highly capable students with an emphasis on developing their critical thinking skills in both non-fiction and well as literature. The material selected is set forth by the Scope and Sequence from RUSD. Students will read both fiction and non-fiction pieces and be expected to think critcially, to evaluate arguments, and to write a variety of essays. Students are expected to come ready to participate in classroom discussion and bring fresh ideas to the classroom. English 9 honors is a challening, yet fun class that will develop students to succeed in advanced courses throughout their high school career.
This class is to prepared you for life after high school, with an emphasis on learning how to communicate in an academic and proessional way so that you may be successful in whatever you pursue post-graduation. Students are expected to come ready to think critically and be prepared to participate in class discussion.
This class is to work on our leadership skills and to prepare the Link Crew Leaders in events geared toward freshmen.
