Intradistrict Transfer Process
Welcome to Redlands Unified School District's Intradistrict Transfer Process
For families residing inside our district, this page tells you how to request a transfer to a school other than your school of residence, outlining eligibility, application steps, and essential timelines. Pay close attention to the conditions for approval.
Eligibility and Application
RUSD student can request a transfer to different school in the district through the following steps:
- Complete an Intradistrict Transfer Request form. Transfer documents accepted at the Enrollment Center or via:

- If you live within the RUSD boundaries but attend a school outside the district you must provide the following documentation:
- Current grades and/or transcripts
- Current year’s attendance record
- Comprehensive student discipline records (current year and previous year)
Open Application Period (January 15 - February 15)
- Permits are granted on a space-available basis.
- If space is not available
- All applications will be placed on hold
- A waitlist will be generated by lot (randomly)
- A letter will go out informing parent that your application is on hold
- Application process will resume when and if space becomes available
- Students whose applications are on the waitlist may not be notified of availability until after the start of school
- If space is not available
Between February 16 - April 15
- All applications received between February 16 and April 15 will be date time stamped
- All applications will be placed on the waitlist in the order received
- A letter will go out informing parent that your application is on hold
- Students whose applications are on the waitlist may not be notified of availability until after the start of school
After April 15 - June 30

Consideration of Interdistrict List for enrollment balance
After June 30

Applications not considered until after the school year starts.
- Students must be enrolled within 10 business days of approval, if not already enrolled into the Redlands School District.
- Conditions include:
- The signed transfer agreement,
- Positive academic progress (2.0 GPA minimum with no failing grades)
- Good attendance (90% or better)
- Good behavior
- Parent understands that they must provide their own transportation
- Transfer approvals may be revoked if any of the specified conditions are not met.
Notice for Team/Squad Tryouts
- Trying out for a team before transfer approval has no bearing on the acceptance of the transfer.
- There are restrictions on trying out, practicing, or competing while attending a different school (Per CIF-SS)
