Summer School 2024
This year, summer school classes will be offered for all RUSD high school students at Citrus Valley High School, located at 800 W. Pioneer Avenue in Redlands. Academic classes will be available to students who previously received a D or F in the same course. However, due to budget constraints, credit advancement classes will not be offered during the 2024 summer school session.
Dates, times, and other general information for the 2024 summer school program are as follows:
1st Session
June 17-July 3, 2024
8:00 AM to 1:00PM
2nd Session
July 8-July 23, 2024
8:00 AM to 1:00PM
No classes will be held on June 19th, July 4th, and July 5th.
Summer School Attendance Policy
Attendance is extremely important in these condensed sessions. Students will be allowed to miss a maximum of 6 hours per semester, regardless of the reason. Time missed includes time lost due to tardies. A tardy constitutes a loss of one hour of attendance. Students accumulating more than 6 hours of absences due to full period absences and/or tardies will be dropped from summer school.
Academic Requirements
Summer school is divided into two sessions. Students can earn five credits per session, for up to ten credits. Except most math courses and P.E., the curriculum is delivered using the Edgenuity platform. All courses, including Edgenuity courses, will be held in person, on the CVHS campus. Courses are academically rigorous. Students should be prepared to devote a significant amount of time both in and out of class.
Nutrition & Transportation
Students will have access to no-cost food options during a midday nutrition break. There will be no district provided transportation.
Registration
Please contact your student’s counselor to discuss attending summer school. Information will be sent to students and families in June via Parent Square confirming enrollment, so please be sure that your Parent Square is active and keep an eye on your email around that time.
