School Site Volunteer Information

Fingerprint clearance through the California Department of Justice (DOJ) is required for all volunteers.

Live Scan fingerprinting is a one-time requirement and does not need to be completed annually. Once approved, your fingerprint clearance will remain valid for the duration of your student's enrollment in RUSD.

Residency Requirements:

• California residents for one (1) year or more: DOJ clearance only.
• California residents for less than one (1) year: DOJ and FBI clearance required.

A negative TB test is required for all volunteers.

If you are a new volunteer with the District, your TB test must be dated within (60) days of the date your volunteer application is submitted. Once approved, TB clearance remains valid with the District for four (4) years.

Options for Obtaining a TB Test

• Option A: Visit your personal healthcare provider.
• Option B: Obtain a Health Services Voucher from the Human Resources Department. Contact HR for more information. 

If you require a chest x-ray to rule out TB, please contact the Human Resources Department for available options.

With the passing of SB 848, parent volunteers are required to complete the Mandated Reporting training. You will be required to create a username* and after finishing the training, you must print the Certificate of Completion and submit it to the school site. Please click on the link below to complete the mandatory training.

*Recommended tip for creating a username: Please use your last name, your two-digit birth month, and four-digit birth year. (Example: Jones041990).
