Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lindsey Sexton

I began teaching in 2007 at Victoria Elementary in the Redlands Unified School district. During the 7 school years there I taught grades K-5. I transferred to Arroyo Verde for the 2014-15 school year and taught kindergarten for 3 years and moved onto the first grade team for the 2017-18 school year. It is truly my happy place and I am always excited to foster growth and exploration at this amazing phase in a child's life.

Hobbies I enjoy outside of the classroom include spending time with my husband and two little girls, ages 8 and 6. We are a very active family and love going to the zoo, the beach, and other places to create memories.

I received my bachelors, multiple subject credential and masters degrees at the University of Redlands. The good ol' U of R has a special place in my heart not only because it's my alma mater but is also where I met my husband. We are both still very involved at the university and enjoy attending events throughout the year.

My classroom is a very exciting and interactive place. I enjoy bringing fun and creativity into my lessons, while still challenging students to help them reach their potential. There will be a lot of hands-on lessons that incorporate many areas of the curriculum to help engage the minds and interests of each unique student. I also work very hard at having small-group and individualized time for each student weekly.

I am incredibly excited to be a part 0f my students' lives and hope that each year will be filled with tons of fun and wonderful learning opportunities, creating growth not only in my students but also in me as a teacher and individual.
