Happy New Year! 2019 is promising to be just as fun and busy as 2018! We are looking forward to the next few months together with your child as we celebrate the Winter season.

Some of the items that we are looking forward to:

• Learning all about weather and winter animals
• Studying Martin Luther King, Junior
• Learning about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln
• Celebrating the 100^th day of School together
• Valentine’s
• Exploring solid and flat shapes
• Sending home our first report card

We will also continue to work on mastering the sight words on the Kindergarten word list as we prepare to implement our guided reading groups. Please, please make sure you are working with your child on learning the words we send home weekly. In Math, we will be discussing, at length, counting to 100 by tens, recognizing sets by subitizing, comparing greater sets and working on our “Math Talk” in order to support our introduction of addition and subtraction.
