"A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches a heart ♥ "

I am so happy to be a part of Kimberly Elementary School, and especially privileged to work with First Graders.  Teaching is my passion, and I have had the pleasure of teaching in California since 1999.  I have been both an upper grade teacher, and a primary teacher, but my heart lies with building a solid foundation for the younger students in reading.  I feel truly blessed to teach, especially 1st Graders!

I have lived in Southern California for the past 30 years, in a house that I love, where I have been now for 18 years. I have a beautiful family which includes my husband - Brian, oldest daughter - Courtney (who is also a teacher), a wonderful son-in-law - Chris, and my youngest daughter - Rilie, who is now attending college.  The family also includes several dogs and two bird. My family's favorite place to travel together is Ireland where we stay in a castle built in the 1228, called Ashford Castle.  I love the outdoors, animals, art, technology, the beach, well there are just too many things to list! My favorite color is the rainbow, but I am partial to pink.  My favortie past time is reading, coming up with new and exciting lessons for my classroom, and sitting in may yard either tending the garden or playing fetch with my dogs.

I love to teach more than anything else I do.  In my classroom we don't just learn, we create, imagine, express, plan, analyze, investigate, draw, sing, laugh, and play, work as a team and most importantly learn to try and never give up.  I like to be a smiling face my students see each day, and where they know they can always get a hug, or a "great job!"  I am always overwhelmed with excitement as each new year begins!  I can't wait for the school year to begin and to see you in my class!
