My name is Janell Searle. I love being a teacher in the Redlands Unified School District. I have been a 1st grade teacher at Lugonia for many years. Before that I had the joy of being a stay home mom to raise my two kids, Brooke and Brandon.  I stayed home until they both got through Kindergarten and then went back to teaching.  

First grade is such an important year for your child.  I will be laying the foundations for the rest of their school experience.  My main focus is reading.  Your child will be reading every day.  It is also important to read to them as well. There is so much growth in 1st grade.  They will become readers, writers, and learn so much in math, Science, Social Studies, and PE.
