Mrs. Wendy McClung
Hello Students and Parents,
My name is Mrs. Wendy McClung and I am starting my sixth year as a Health Science and Medical Technology Instructor. I have been spent five of those years as an employee of the Colton, Redlands, Yucaipa R.O.P. program and I sincerely love my job and the organization that I work for. Prior to teaching, I worked in healthcare for 16 years as a Respiratory Care Practitioner throughout the Inland Empire. I decided return to college and study psychology as I began to see seeing the stigma and shame that my patients with mental illness faced. I am especially passionate about the prevention of childhood trauma and childhood development.
Each year my students host a campus-wide Mental Health Fair in order to bring mental health awareness and outside resources on campus. Last year our event was covered by the Redlands Daily Facts and was featured on PBS's State of the Empire.
My Mind Matters students have a unique opportunity to become certified in Mental Health First Aid and interview for summer internships at the San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health over the summertime. Students will begin this process of applying for the internship in the Spring.
I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting 2019-2020 school year!
