Mrs. Beckwith
I am Norma Beckwith. I started teaching in 1987 at Rialto Unified School District before finally joining Redlands USD in 1997. After seven years at REV and eleven years at Clement, I found my way to Orangewood High School where I have enjoyed teaching Social Studies and Economics since 2015. I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals to build a great life!
Course Schedules
US History - Period 1 and Period 3/4
Students will examine major developments and turning points in U.S. history from the late 19th century to the present. They will explore this information using the following four themes:
1) the expanding role of the federal government
2) changes in American society
3) the U.S. as a major world power
4) the evolving definition of American citizenship and freedom.
Economics - Periods 2, 5, 6
Students will study typical micro and macroeconomic topics including: economic reasoning, choice, costs of choices, benefit/cost analysis, incentives, voluntary exchange, scarcity, how labor markets work and about the evolution and transition of the U.S. labor market. The role of government in the economy is also analyzed.
