Alyssa Cavanaugh

Alyssa Cavanaugh was an honors program graduate at Chaffey College where she earned an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies, before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she studied Political Science. Alyssa spent a year commuting to UCLA from Rancho Cucamonga before realizing that her true passion was working with children, so she transferred to California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development with a concentration in Early Childhood Development. After graduation, Alyssa began working as a substitute teacher for the Ontario-Montclair School District, and in 2006, she graduated from CSUSB with a Master of Science degree in Educational Counseling and Guidance, with a PPS credential. Shortly after graduating, Alyssa began working for the Redlands Unified School District as a K-12 school counselor at the Redlands Independent Study Education Program (RISE) where she worked for ten years. Alyssa helped open Redlands eAcademy and worked in both the RISE program and Redlands eAcademy until joining the elementary school counseling team. Alyssa is excited for the opportunity to work directly with young children and their families to help them reach their full potential; she looks forward to forming new connections with them as an elementary school counselor.
