My parents inspired me to become a teacher. I watched their struggle to earn their degrees and credentials as re-entry students while also raising and supporting three daughters. As a young teenager, I spent hours assisting them in their classrooms; I was inspired by the devoted way they served their students and communities. Now, more than a decade into my own teaching career, I am happy to be working in the community where I have my home and raise my children, and to serve in Redlands Unified with my husband, who is also a middle school English teacher.
I earned my bachelors of arts form Humboldt State University in English Language Arts with an emphasis on creative writing. Even during my under-graduate work, I prepared my teaching craft. Returning to Southern California, I completed my credential at California State University, San Bernardino.
Redlands is my home and I feel blessed to contribute to the diverse and positive culture of our community.
