My journey in education started in 2000, I started out as a teachers assistant with Baldy View ROP at the Auto body/Refinish located on the campus of Chino High School, I was the assistant for this program for approximately 1.5 yrs before I became the night instructor for this program from mid 2001- 2003. I remained the daytime teachers assistant throughout my time at Chino.
The opportunity came up for me at the ending of the 2003 school year to start a new program of my own with a new curriculum still with Baldy View ROP, but located on the campus of Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, this program was new to the state and the only program like it at the High School level. It was Automotive Performance & Customization. This program was unlike anything any other schools had. We taught Metal Fabrication as it pertains to automotive customizing using sheet metal tools and fabrication techniques used by automotive customizers worldwide, English wheel, Planishing hammer, Bead Roller, GMAW & GTAW welding etc., also taught was High Performance Engines, Chassis Fabrication. Pretty much anything that had to do with the Customization of the Automobile. 2003-2010.
The next opportunity was with a school located near Denver Colorado. The school was Warren Tech located in Lakewood CO, part of the Jefferson County School District. The Program was a suffering Automotive Customization class that needed a revival. Within the 1st year the class went from low enrollment to a waiting list. This program was similar to the class at Etiwanda, but with the ability to teach Custom painting as we had access to a paint booth and plenty of materials. I enjoyed my time in Colorado, and loved the school, but made the decision that California was where I needed to be.
