Welcome to first grade! I am looking forward to being your child's teacher this year. First grade is a year filled with fun and huge leaps of learning. First graders develop fundamental work habits, appropriate social behavior, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and of course academic skills. They will become accomplished readers and writers. You will see changes in your child's thinking as he/she becomes familiar with abstract concepts and symbols. The transformation will be dramatic!
