Ms. Amanda Bryan

My name is Ms. Bryan and I am very excited to be your child’s teacher and join the 5th-grade team! It’s going to be a great year full of learning, adventures, and fun! Our class college is University of California, Riverside and our mascot is Scotty Highlander! I am a graduate of California State University of San Bernardino where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and my Multiple Subject Credential.

In my classroom, I believe it is important for students to feel safe and respected. We will work all year long to establish a room filled with friendships, pride, trust and high self-esteem. I believe it is crucial to create and preserve a positive and respectful learning environment. Establishing and maintaining a kind, friendly and nurturing environment allows students to achieve both personal and academic success. I embrace the task of teaching young minds with enthusiasm and passion. I believe that creating a partnership among students, parents and myself is an essential component to teaching. It is my aspiration to motivate students with engaging activities, build character and foster self- confidence with compassion, positivity, and encouragement. It is my goal that my love of teaching generates a love of learning among my students so that their school years are a successful journey and 5th grade is a memorable experience!

Your child will need a 3 ring binder that is at least 2 inches, dividers with 4 tabs/subjects (labeled Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies), loose leaf paper (between each divider), pencils, 1 red pen, and 1 composition notebook. If you are unable to get these supplies, please contact me on Remind.

Students will be assigned homework daily. Students are expected to read every night for at least 30 minutes. Students will use their school agendas daily to record their assigned homework and responsibilities. I have time set aside at the end of each day dedicated to agendas. If homework is not assigned, then I will have students write “No homework” on the selected day. Please initial your child’s agenda each day under their written homework so that I know it was acknowledged.

I believe an open line of communication between parent, student, and teacher is the key to promoting an enriched learning and teaching environment. Please always feel free to reach out to me with questions, thoughts, or concerns on Remind. Class code: @g84fag
