Principal's Corner

  • Dear Arroyo Verde Family,

It is a pleasure to introduce myself as the new principal of Arroyo Verde Elementary School and to join this extraordinary community. I look forward to getting to know you and your students as we work together to continue the long-standing program of educational excellence at Arroyo Verde.

My husband of 27 years and I moved to the Redlands community to raise our family over 16 years ago. We are both graduates of CSUSB and have strong ties in the community. As a parent of three children, who all attended schools in Redlands USD it is an honor to give back to the community which provided our children with a quality education.

Before being appointed Principal at Arroyo Verde, I served as Principal of Washington Elementary in Riverside Unified School District for past five years. During the past 18 years in public education I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of grades levels at both the elementary and secondary levels, as well as serve as an instructional coach and Math Curriculum Specialist for San Bernardino County.

My conversations with school and district staff the last few weeks have brought me insights into the core beliefs and values that underlie the Redlands Unified School District. With my goal of continuing the tradition of excellence here at Arroyo Verde Elementary School, I am committed to always exploring new ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. My educational philosophy is that all students can learn in a nurturing and challenging environment.

Distance learning has been challenging for parents, students and teachers. I know that this year more than ever it is essential for parents and the school to work together.  I look forward to getting to hear from you as to how best to support your students. Our first virtual meet and greet opportunity will take place on Wednesday January 27th at 9am.  Please watch for information on how to sign up for this session.

To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I will be visiting virtual classrooms next week to officially introduce myself. Each morning I will be sending out a video message to your teachers to start your day called “Checking in with Dr. Lenertz.”
