Measure D

What is Measure D?

Measure D is a $500 million general obligation bond measure approved by voters in the Redlands Unified School District (RUSD) during the November 5, 2024, election. The measure was designed to fund critical infrastructure improvements across the district’s schools, many of which are over 60 years old and in need of modernization to ensure safe, healthy, and effective learning environments.

Purpose and Scope

The primary objectives of Measure D include:

  • Enhancing student health and safety by removing hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead, and mold; repairing deteriorating sewer, gas, and electrical systems; and ensuring access to safe drinking water.

  • Protecting students from extreme heat by upgrading outdated electrical grids and installing modern HVAC systems, addressing the increasing number of school days with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.

  • Modernizing classrooms and facilities to support 21st-century learning, including upgrades to science, engineering, and career technical education spaces.

  • Repairing and replacing aging infrastructure, such as leaky roofs, outdated plumbing, and deteriorating bathrooms.
