Redlands High School announces new head football coach

REDLANDS, CA – Redlands High School (RHS) announces its new head football coach - Mike McFarland.

“We are thrilled to hire a high-quality social studies teacher and coach,” said Kate Bartells, Principal at RHS. “His coaching experience is impressive but his ability to develop character and moral values in his students will no doubt lead our Terriers to success on the field and beyond.”

McFarland’s coaching experience includes working at both the high school and collegiate level over the last 18 years.

“Coach McFarland’s multi-level experience should serve him well as he prepares the Terriers for competition in both the Citrus Built League (CBL) and California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) – Southern Section,” said Patrick Hafley, District Athletic Director.

As head coach at Temple City High School in Los Angeles, he led his team to two CIF – LA City Section playoff appearances.

“Redlands High School is very excited to have found a coach with local ties at the high school level,” said Chris Ruhm, Assistant Principal at RHS. “We are confident in his high energy level and his commitment to success for our program.”

Coach McFarland’s official first day will be March 1. He will be joining RHS after his third season as the Miner’s offensive coordinator at Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T).
